Molluscum

Molluscum

Molluscum, or water warts, is a viral infection that results in lesions (warts) on the skin. They are contagious, and commonly spread. They are often seen in children, but can affect people of any age. While they do not tend to be painful, they can itch and generally be bothersome. When seen in children, they can bleed and create more infection by incessant scratching. Even without any scratching or irritation, molluscum can remain on the body for years.

At the Center for Skin and Cosmetic Dermatology, we offer treatments for molluscum so that you, or perhaps your child, can regain blemish-free skin. Traditionally treated with lasers, our team of physicians will work with your skin to ensure that not only the molluscum is cleared up, but that there is very minimal scarring.
